The Impact of Our Contributions!
Project Book Buddies Benches
As a recipient of the Medina City Schools Foundation grant, I was able to fund the Project Book Buddies Benches. This project allowed for two benches and character books to be bought and used in the classroom. The benches allow for the creation of a student-centered learning environment where collaboration and cooperative learning are encouraged. Students are encouraged throughout the day to sit and read character-building books with a buddy. This helps to promote positive peer relationships and allows students to work together as they read and discuss the theme and/or moral of the book. My students look forward to their book buddy time and working collaboratively with others. This foundation grant has been a great addition to my class. Thank you!

World Music Drumming Program
Thank you to the Medina City Schools Foundation for their generous grant to purchase 3 Tubanos of various tonality to supplement the World Music Drumming Program at Waite Elementary School. Through drumming, students learn about culture, community and teamwork while learning difficult rhythms and literature.
